The Annual St. Nicholas Dinner and Christmas Sale is a major Christ Church fund raiser each year. Please help make this the best yet.

"Hands Around the World"--2007 Quilt Raffle

Tickets are available for "Hands Around the World," the 2007 Christ Church Quilt. The 2007 Christ Church Quilt ,"Hands Around the World," is the second quilt pattern based on a quilt in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) collection. The DAR original uses a medium blue and white pieced block (pattern is known as "Hands All Around"), with adjoining white squares and blue and white borders.

The Christ Church replica uses the same pattern but with white against an indigo blue calico for a higher contrast design. The size of the pieced blocks have been enlarged so that the quilt fits a double or queen size bed; finished size will measure about 90 x 105 inches. The quilt is backed with indigo blue striped fabric, and is hand and machined pieced and hand quilted.

This is the 24th year that a quilt has been made as part of fund-raising efforts for CC+WP. This year the proceeds from the quilt raffle, to be held in conjunction with the St. Nicholas Day Dinner on December 8th ,will be donated to support the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. The aim of the MDGs is to cut global poverty in half by 2015. In addition to support from national governments, the MDGs are supported by the Episcopal Church and many other religious and secular organizations throughout the world.

The Christ Church+Capitol Hill Community Quilters Extrodinaire meet at 7:30 PM on most Monday nights in the upper room of the Christ Church parish hall. The quilting group is open to all. Experience with sewing or membership at CC+WP is not required. Tickets are available at Christ Church or contact Linda Mellgren or Andrea Harles.

Quilt Tickets Prices: 6/$5 or $1 Each

Help Spread the Word

Please, tell friends and neighbors about this wonderful holiday tradition. Ask them to mark their calendars for Dec 8.

Soon you will receive an email announcement about the dinner and sale. Please forward THAT email to friends and neighbors to get the word out. Look for a link at the bottom left corner of that email saying "Forward to a friend" and use that link to ensure that the email you send on retains the images and format of the 'pretty email' we been using. Contact Mona Guarino.

Please help us by donating a basket for silent auction, or making baked goods, take extra quilt tickets to sell, help with set-up on Saturday, help in the kitchen on Dec 8, help with cleanup. Let me know what you will do to help!

Sincerely,

Carolyn Cheney
