Stewardship at Christ Church
2013 Online Pledge Card To make a pledge now you can go to our online pledge card for 2013. Stewardship Moment Why give to Christ Church? Come to church and find out! Each week, a parishioner will answer this question for him/herself during our "Stewardship Moment" every Sunday until November. Pledging What is most important is that your pledge be significant to you and intentional in its expression of gratitude to God. By giving to the church, we return a portion of the gifts God has given us and contribute to the worship and service that shapes our lives with God. What happens to the pledges? The monetary pledges give the church a basis for making a budget for 2013 and a way for you to make your contributions intentional. You can see where the money goes in the budget and expenses from 2011. We also value your pledges of time and talent. Our expanding and thriving life at Christ Church means that we need more people to share in making our ministry happen. Here is some opportunities for you to consider. And please talk to the rector if you have another idea.
Giving
Stewardship, ordinary giving, or annual giving is done in the fall to determine the expected offerings for the following year and permits the Vestry to develop the annual operating budget.
Extra-ordinary giving is done on an as-needed basis, usually in response to a specific need as it is identified. The recent "Heritage Fund" to further the strategic plan is an example of extra-ordinary giving.
Planned Giving encompasses a variety of ways that gifts can be made to the church. It usually involves financial or estate planning; however, it is not reserved for the wealthy. Planned giving is a means by which anyone concerned with the wise use of his or her personal resources makes a considered choice about their ultimate disposition. For more information, please contact Sid Neely, Convener for the Planned Giving Committee, or email PlannedGiving@WashingtonParish.org.
