Office Volunteers: Our magnificent office
volunteers do the work of running the Christ Church Office.
If you would like to join their distinguished ranks, please
let Nina Greene know via her email at
office@washingtonparish.org
or by calling the office.
On Monday mornings,
Bina Beghé is the office volunteer. She mails the yellow
reminders, puts together the rota for Sunday morning
ministries, and sends bulletins to shut-ins.
On Tuesday mornings,
Gary Abrecht is the office volunteer. He oversees the
parking lot, orders supplies (kitchen and office), and does
some general fixing up of things that are in need of
attention.
On Wednesday mornings,
Joe Shaffer is the office volunteer.
Joe takes
care of the filing, the phones, and helps with mailings.
On Thursday mornings,
Carolyn Johnson works on the office manual.
Mona Guarino is the
free-floating office volunteer. She creates the
announcements and calendar for the bulletin, assists with
bulletin production, produces The Parishioner,
and does some work with the data base. Gerry Connolly
keeps up with the web page. Ruth Pontius manages our
parishioner and pledge database.
All office
volunteers also answer the telephone and the door. .
Office
Hours/Appointments
The Parish Office
is generally open Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 1:00
pm (except on Federal Holidays). The office is closed on
Fridays. The voice mail is on when the office is unoccupied
or when volunteers/staff are on another line.
Meetings
All meetings in the church
buildings must be cleared through Nina Greene. This
includes all vestry committee meetings and church events. A
master calendar is maintained, and as more groups use the
facilities, it should never be assumed that the upper room,
Edna’s Room, the parish hall, or even the sanctuary will be
free at any given time. The sooner you book the space, the
better. If your group prefers to meet at the home of a
parishioner, please let the office know the date, time, and
place so the information can be printed in the weekly
calendar section of the bulletin and so we can respond
relatively intelligently to phone inquiries.

Rector,
The Reverend Cara Spaccarelli,
is the primary leader of worship,
education, spiritual guidance and pastoral care as well as
the supervisor of seminarians. The Rector is the Administrator of
the Parish, staff, and properties. The Rector also serves in
various capacities within the Diocese. The Rector is always on call
for pastoral emergencies.
Cara's passion in ministry is for drawing people into
the community of the church and fostering the spiritual
growth of members, newcomers, and strangers alike. Born in
Cincinnati, Ohio, Cara was raised in the Episcopal Church,
and first experienced the call to the priesthood while
ministering as a counselor at an Episcopal camp. She
graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota
with a major in American Studies and received her MDiv at
Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas.
Ordained in 2006, she served at St. Mark's Cathedral in
Minneapolis before beginning her ministry as rector of
Christ Church on July 18th, 2010. Cara and her
husband, Michael Lawyer, keep active with their two young
sons, Riley and Aden."
